We spent this weekend in New England for wedding four of five for the year, and two in a row if you’re paying attention! I grew up south of Boston and although I’ve come to love New York, I miss a lot about my original home state. So, I was really excited to be back, and although the weather wasn’t great, we still took advantage of being near the ocean and ate lots of fresh fish. When I was packing for this trip, I realized it had been way too long since I wore this silver pleated skirt. But, I knew we would be walking a lot, so I paired the skirt with sneakers and a tee so I would be comfortable and less dressy for daytime.
This is what I wore to brunch with family friends and then to explore Newburyport, a charming town with lots of shopping and great food. It’s so rare for me to be able to take pictures without worrying about crowds of people streaming down the sidewalks (love ya, Manhattan), so this was bliss.
After walking around for a bit, we headed back to our hotel to get ready for the wedding. You can see what I wore on Insta. Turns out I was unintentionally color coordinated with two of our girlfriends…great minds think alike! This wedding was extra special because we’ve had the honor of watching the couple fall in love from the very beginning. They first met at a BBQ we hosted. The groom and my husband went to law school together, but we already knew him from the summer we worked at the camp where we met. Lots of stars aligned over the years, and it was just so wonderful to celebrate with a great group of friends. That said, I’m glad we’ll be home for a few weeks. Traveling is fun, but totally exhausting and I can’t wait for Bones to get home from doggie camp tomorrow!
