It feels strange talking about a Sephora sale right now, and I don’t want anyone to feel pressure to spend money. But, some people are finding comfort in sticking to regular skincare and makeup routines, and there’s nothing wrong with that. Many are also taking the opportunity to experiment with new products, or focus on self-care. You have to be a Beauty Insider to shop the sale, but it’s free to join. There are three different levels based on how much you spend and points you accumulate. Rouge can shop with 20% off starting today (4/17), VIB with 15% off starting 4/21, and Insiders with 10% off starting 4/23.
First, let’s talk about the best products for a minimal makeup look. I’ve mostly been going makeup-free, but when I do put something on, it’s CC cream, concealer and lip balm. If you’ve never used a BB or CC cream, I like to think of it as in between tinted moisturizer and foundation. Perfect for smoothing out imperfections while still looking natural! On to skincare! I didn’t really have a deliberate skincare routine until a few years ago. But, once I entered my 30s, I realized how important it was to be intentional about the way I was caring for my skin. While I do sometimes try out new products for review (just got this one), I have a consistent lineup for AM and PM. My process is cleanser, then toner, then under-eye + other specialty serums, then moisturizer. I have different cleansers and moisturizers for day and night. Here’s what I use that is included in this sale:
As far as haircare, I’m no expert. But, there are a few things that I count on to keep my mane manageable. I finally bought into the whole silk phenomenon with a Slip pillowcase and hair elastics. But, full disclosure: I have another pillowcase that’s a knockoff, and I honestly can’t tell the difference in my skin or hair when I use that one. I do love the hair ties though. After showers, I wrap my hair in this hair turban to dry. It’s made of special material to absorb moisture and decrease frizz. Perfection! Some faves:
