In case you didn’t know, this week is the Jewish holiday of Passover. It starts with a big meal called a Seder. Some people have one and some have two. We spend the first night at my in-laws, and then head to my dad’s for the second. We’re fortunate to have all of our parents in the New York area, and it’s great to be able to spend holidays together (although it can definitely be exhausting!) For the first Seder on Monday night, I wore this fabulous polka dot dress. In our family, Passover is pretty casual, but I can never pass up an opportunity to dress up.
Truthfully, I had a really hard time deciding what to wear. I’ve gained a little weight in the last six months, and I’m finding that not everything fits the way I would like. Although I try not to stress about numbers like weight and size and just focus on how I feel, it’s easier said than done when the one impacts the other. I tried on a few outfits and just didn’t like how they looked, but when I put this dress on, I felt great. I love the A-line silhouette and the way the skirt flows from a cinched waist. Polka dots are my favorite pattern, and I’m also currently obsessed with the off-the-shoulder neckline, so that helped too.
I love my denim jacket, but I decided last year that I needed another option so I wasn’t wearing it all the time. This white denim option is a little dressier, and still goes great with everything. Also got really lucky when I found these platform (or flatform?) sandals at TJMaxx. They’re so cute and really comfortable too!
Earrings: BaubleBar (similar), Sunnies: Madewell (another option), White Denim Jacket: Old Navy, Polka Dot Dress: Who What Wear x Target, Sandals: TJ Maxx (similar), Bag: Kate Spade (also love this one)
Such a cute polka dot dress – and such a classic piece! Also loving it paired with the pink purse!
Thanks so much, Rachel!
