Last Monday, I had the honor of hosting a special shopping event at Ann Taylor LOFT’s Flatiron store. Tomorrow, I will share more about the event itself and some snapshots from that night, but for now, here’s what I wore:
Those ruffled layers are actually part of a dress that I had been admiring forever. It was an online exclusive on the LOFT website, and I stalked it until the sale price was something I could afford. I love that every other layer has subtle dots! Since the dress is sleeveless, I thought long and hard about how I could wear it on a cold January night without freezing. Going along with what seems to be my winter theme of creative layering, I found a cropped leopard print sweatshirt on sale at Zara that ended up being the perfect topper. Although the sweatshirt has an elastic band at the bottom, I wanted to define my waist just a little bit more, so I added a skinny braided belt.
I was also in serious need of a haircut, so I figured what better time to have someone else do my hair than before I’m hosting an event! I got a great deal on a conditioning treatment, cut and blowdry from Lifebooker. If you live in NYC (or any big city) and don’t want to pay crazy prices for hair and beauty services, you MUST check them out.

Thanks, Merritt! It was a great find!
I love that you turned a dress into a skirt…the animal print looks super cute with it
Thanks, Tara! The dress was sleeveless, so I wanted to find a way to wear it in cold weather without hiding the ruffles. I’m glad it worked!
