Statement sleeves are still a popular trend this spring, so I thought I would share my tips for how to style a puff sleeve blouse. You might be worried about overwhelming your figure, especially if you’re petite. I like to pair a voluminous sleeve with something more fitted on the bottom. Also, a blouse with a defined or peplum waist like this one helps offset the volume. This is an easy outfit with jeans, and a classic pair of shoes. But, you could also style this top with white jeans or a denim skirt. Keep accessories and jewelry simple so your blouse can be the focus.
This weekend, we spent time with new and old friends. We also went on a much-needed date night on Saturday night…which almost didn’t happen. My in-laws were planning to babysit, but my MIL wasn’t feeling well. We asked around for a last minute babysitter recommendation, but it wasn’t looking good. Then, I remembered we could ask Seth’s daycare teachers. Fortunately, one of them was available, and all we had to do was fill out a form to make it happen. It was actually really nice because we already know and trust her, and she knows Seth.
I’m so glad we got to go out too. We hadn’t been out just the two of us since our anniversary in September…which is way too long. It was really nice to spend time together, talk about serious and silly things, and enjoy some food and drinks. We went to the Hotel Chantelle for dinner and Sel Rrose for drinks. The Lower East Side isn’t an area we’ve spent much time in, but it was fun to change things up! I’m planning to do some exploring this summer and update my NYC guide, so let me know if there’s anywhere you want me to check out.
