As a graduate student studying biomedical research, I have to wear flat, closed-toe shoes, but that doesn’t mean I am going to sacrifice my fashion just to follow the rules. As such, I have found that ballet flats are the perfect blend of stylish, comfortable & work appropriate, and have started a serious collection of cuties from J.Crew Factory, Old Navy (current favorites!) & a splurge pair from Tory Burch.
Love the pants!

Sam, I love this series! I wear flats a lot so I’m excited to see them getting more attention on your blog
Jess is always super stylish and I love her blog! Those flats look super comfy, I’m going to have to stop by ON soon.
Hi Miranda! I’m so glad you like the series! I’m excited to have Jess guest posting this week. I love her blog too! I hope you’ll check out the rest of the series, and come back for more!
Love it! Those mint jeans are amazing.

Right? I think we all need some mint jeans for spring!
Just found your blog from Jess’s and I love this idea!! i’m a huge fan of flats since I walk/bus/walk to work and I wish they got more credit!!
Thanks so much, Bri! I live and work in Manhattan, so I’m totally with you on the public transportation/walking to work combo. Flats not getting enough credit is one reason why I started this series, so I’m always happy to connect with other flats lovers. Thanks for commenting!
I love reading Jess’s blog because I also work in a lab, and also have to wear flats! I always am so jealous of all the bloggers who wear cute heels or sandals, but that’s just not a possibility when you work in a laboratory. What a great idea as a feature! I’m excited to go read about the other girls!
I agree, Jess’ blog is great! The truth is that heels just aren’t practical for most people on an everyday basis…and sometimes practicality has to win out. But, that doesn’t mean we can’t look cute! Would love to have you join the series! Let me know if you’re interested. Thanks, Franziska!
I would love to, thank you for the offer!
