As I look back on 2019, a lot goes through my mind. There were certainly some challenging moments, some goals I didn’t reach. It can be hard to focus on the positive, and it may feel awkward to celebrate accomplishments publicly. That said, there is no doubt in my mind that this was a fantastic year! I made some major changes in my life and started to truly focus on living healthier. I LOST 30 POUNDS, and almost as impressive impressive, I’ve kept it off! No matter what else happened, it was a healthier year, and that’s worth celebrating.

Make no mistake, putting myself first, eating healthy, and working out regularly isn’t always easy. I have moments of weakness when I give into cravings, but I’ve also learned to give myself a little grace. For me, it’s been about finding a balance when it comes to food, and being more conscious about what and how much I’m eating. I eat more vegetables and less starches, but I haven’t given up any entire food groups. I try to get to the gym at least twice a week, but I’m not doing anything crazy in the exercise arena either. It really is about finding that balance, and if you want to make a change, you can do it too.
On top of the obvious physical changes, I’m much happier when I look in the mirror. I still have moments of self-doubt, but knowing that I’m taking much better care of myself is another level of confidence. It will always be a little scary to take and post photos like this, but I’m so proud of how far I’ve come, and I can’t wait to see what 2020 has in store!

PS This workout set is from Old Navy. They don’t have this pattern anymore, but it’s one of my favorite places for affordable activewear!
